Abstract: Rainwater harvesting is an approach which provides loads of benefits to plants, animals and human lives for survival. On this basis, a small-scale rainwater harvesting structure was constructed at the Adeleke University Teaching and Research Farm Ede, Osun-State. This study investigated the influence roof material and angle of tilt on the volume of harvested rainwater. Four mini-structures were constructed with different roof materials (Aluminum, Fiber, Asbestos and Biomass based materials) and each roof material was constructed with an adjuster to set the roof surface to three major tilt angles (35, 40 and 450). The volume of harvested rainwater harvested was measured for various samples. The statistical analysis showed that all the variables affect the volume of harvested rainwater. Modeling result gave the optimal condition of 45o tilt angle and biomass based roof material which gave 5.27 litres of water. The model developed developed has a R2 value of 97% which showed a good agreement. More concerted efforts should be geared towards public sensitisation for an increased public interest to harvest more rainwater for domestic uses like irrigation farming and other farm operations especially in places with water scarcity areas where there is low annual rainfall.

Abstract: Proportional integral observer (PIO) for tracking a nonlinear method has a lower sentiency to cipher the state and output variables. So a more nonlinear controller has to be else to control to activity. In this paper, a fuzzy logic (FLC) controller has been added to the PIO to meliorate the calculation transmute. A fuzzy proportional integral observer (FPIO) for following a nonlinear system has been premeditated to decimate the susceptibleness to cipher the tell and turnout variables with the existent posit and product variables. The FPIO controller has been tested for improving the estimation control using a nonlinear quarter vehicle active suspension system with a nonlinear hydraulic actuator. A comparison simulation of the proposed nonlinear system for estimating the state variables and tracking the output (suspension deflection) with a set point bump road disturbance using FPIO and PIO. The comparison simulation result shows that the estimated state variables and system output match the actual ones perfectly using a fuzzy PIO controller.

Abstract: The main aim of this study was to assess problem solving performance in physics of grade 9th students. A test of reasoning was administered to a sample of 578 students. The results show differential performance of the students. Question based performance with background variable as school sector shows that performance of private school students was significantly better than students of public schools. Similarly female private school students performed well than male private school students.

Abstract: The environmental problems which may arise in India, due to population growth, increased industrial and agricultural activities, and depletion of natural resources in the next 25 years, are discussed here. Selected aspects of problems which require special attention are treated with particular emphasis on rural situations. The present status of the various aspects of human settlement—such as quality of air, water, sanitation, health, and housing—as well as aspects of conservation of forests, soils, and wildlife, is outlined as far as possible in a quantitative manner. It is visualized that environmental management will have to be more serious and of growing dimensions in the coming years.

ABSTRACT: This study determined the effect of oven drying on some quality attributes of chicken. The properties determined include sensory properties (including colour, flavor, taste, texture, tenderness, juiciness and overall acceptability) and physical properties (including cooking loss, pH and water holding capacity). The data collected was statistically analysed using the general linear model procedure available in SAS and Duncan’s Multiple Range (DMRT) was used to determine the difference among means. Drying time had significant effect on the properties measured. It was obtained that the longer the drying duration of the sausage, the longer rate at which the sausage attain the degree of acceptance. The oven drying of sausage raised its shelf life and sensory attributes.

Abstract: Selecting starting pitchers is a strategic issue with a significant effect on the performance of a professional team. Choosing optimal starting pitchers from many alternatives is a multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) problem. This study develops an evaluation model, based on the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and the Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to the Ideal Solution (TOPSIS), to help managers and coaches of a professional baseball team make the optimal selection for starting pitchers. The AHP was used to analyze the structure of starting-pitcher selection and determines weights of the criteria, whereas the TOPSIS method makes the final ranking. Empirical analysis illustrates model utilization for selecting starting pitchers. The results of this study demonstrate the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed model.

Abstract: This paper deals with the comparative analysis of the performance of LS estimator for comb-type and block-type channel estimation in Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM). The effect of increase in channel order on the performance of the LS estimator for both comb-type and block-type channel estimation is studied through simulation and mean square error expression (MSE). MSE expression for both comb-type and block-type channel estimation, incorporating the effect of the channel order on the performance, is  derived and it is found that the performance of the LS estimator for block-type channel estimation remains stable for an increase in channel order  which is indicated by the MSE expression and simulation results. On the other hand, the performance of LS estimator for comb-type channel estimation degrades with an increase in channel order.

Abstract:  The importance of the tax potential of tourist activity and the possibility of solving the problems facing the country's economy in the context of slowing economic growth determine the relevance of the research. One of the current, not yet solved problem is the problem of optimizing the tax burden, which is based on the analysis of the dependence of economic agents ' behavior to changes in the tax pressure and must take into account the possibility of opportunistic action on their part, the solution of which will allow to improve the revenue side of the budget. The tax burden for a particular entity is defined as the share of taxes in sales revenue. The main difficulties in assessing the level of tax burden on the enterprise due to the heterogeneity of taxes and the level of their impact on the economy. First, the tax burden on taxes paid at cost must be measured by the specific weight of these taxes as part of cost. Secondly, taxes paid at the expense of the financial results of the company's activities should be compared with the profit from sales of the main activity.

Abstract:  In the article discussed the mechanism of the process of commercialization of media products and the information model of the internet media as the main element of commercialization is very complex by nature of the news segment of the Internet Media: article technical, form legal, purpose socio-economic. Each of its components is considered to develop a serious supply of information (information-technological, information-analytical), which is the basis of the process of commercialization of media systems. Today, the Internet is a rapidly developing type of media, as well as information and advertising sources. It is also necessary that the company that wants to use Internet opportunities effectively exists in the global network. This also sets new requirements for website creators. The wide use of the internet as a data transmission channel in the implementation of projects makes it possible to reduce the financial costs of the company. Already, the Website is an open resource for residents of the whole world.
