Abstract: In India sociology and social anthropology can be traced to the days when the British officials realized its need for smooth administration. The aftermath of 1857 new science had to come to understand the roots of Indian society. It was with the rise of ethnography, anthropology, and sociology which began to provide empirical data of the colonial rule. According to the history Herbat Risely was the pioneer of ethnographic studies in India. By the second half of the 19th century, Indian sociologists have made a prominent contribution to the development of indigenous studies of Indian society. Certain trends of development of sociology may be identified in the pre independence period. But strong scientific empirical tradition had not emerged before independence. Sociology was considered a mixed bag without a proper identity of its own (Rao, 1982). Sociology established its identity as discipline by separating itself from psychology, anthropology and social philosophy in post independence period. Many scholars who richly contributed to the promotion of sociological studies and research in the country. G. S. Ghurye, N. A. Toothi, D. N.Majmudar, B. N. Seal, K. M. Kapadia, Iravati Karve, S. V. Karanadikar, M. N. Srinivas, A. R. Desai, I. P. Desai, M. S. Gore and Y. B. Damle are some of the outstanding scholars who shaped the destiny of the discipline. And helped in the establishment of the development of sociology in India

Abstract: While this study is to draw from the autocratic and transformational leadership styles to advance further understanding on the underlying mechanisms that enable leaders to behave in an autocratic or transformational manner; and to affect employee motivation, their behaviour and consequently, their organisational oriented ventures. The paper intends to establish the role of leadership style in motivating the teaching staff to be committed to their work. From these 7high schools, 84 teaching staff were selected to participate. It should be noted that these ‘high schools were not performing above the provincial benchmark. In order to obtain a holistic view of the overall leadership style present in the school system, a Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire (MLQ) was used. The researchers administered the questionnaires with the assistance of schools’ administrative clerks and the completed questionnaires were collected by the research support group. Data were analysed by descriptive statistics, such as percentages, frequency and the Cronbach-alpha coefficient to test among other things, the reliability of describing the impact and the leadership style in these schools. The study reveals that there strong relationship between transformational leadership behaviours and commitment (affective commitment; continuance commitment; and normative commitment). The findings further highlighted the relationship trust, inspiring a shared vision, encouraging creativity and emphasising development as positive aspect that motivate staff. While it can be argued that transformational leadership cannot raise job satisfaction, however the commitment of teachers to their job can raise job satisfaction and ultimately improve the school’s academic performance.

Abstract

The study is on Proposed Modified ridge estimators for solving Multicollinearity problems in Linear Regression. A monte Carlo experiment was conducted using TSP 5.0 Statistical Package with sample sizes of 10,20,30,50,100 and 250 and at different multicollinearity levels of 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, 0.8, 0.95 and 0.99 which are categorize as low, moderate and high levels. The data generated were replicated 1000 time with normally and uniformly distributed regressors. The methods employed the use Ordinary Ridge and Generalized Ridge estimators along with CORC and ML estimators. The proposed estimators used the appropriate estimators, CORC and ML, to obtain MSE and the regression coefficients which is now used in developing the proposed estimators. The results of the analysis revealed that among the proposed modified ridge estimators MLMOREKBAY, CORCMOREKBAY, CORCMOREKLA and MLMGRE perform excellently well at different sample sizes and can therefore be used to solve problem of multicollinearity in any dataset. Also, the existing estimator OREKBAY compete favorably well with the proposed estimators in addressing the problem of multicollinearity.

Abstract: discusses the component creative activities (imaging, relaxation visualization sociodrama, and play) and how they sit together in the relationship between mental activity and physical well-being. Through play, people are free to explore alternatives that can give them insights into their personal temperaments, emotional reactions, and unconscious motivations. Perhaps the most valuable aspect of imaginative play is that it fosters creativity. As a person grows psychologically and copes with his/her changing environment and self, creativity is called into play. Creative activities offer people the opportunities to communicate with each other and themselves. Valuing and developing one's creativity raises one's level of wellness. Wellness involves the physical and mental health of an individual, positive future images and true communication with oneself and others.

Abstract: Review of related literature is based on the material available in the University Library and in no way be considered exhaustive. The review is brief and presented chronologically in the following section. Carter (1985) in a study examined relationships between sex-role orientation and cognitive flexibility in 100 male and 100 female undergraduates. Specifically differences in cognitive flexibility between persons with different sex role orientations and the contributions of masculinity and feminity to the differences observed were examined. Subjects completed the Ben Sex-role Inventory and the Alternate Uses Test-Form A (AUT) a measure of cognitive flexibility. Androgynous subjects were expected to exhibit greater cognitive flexibility than traditionally typed subjects findings show that men scored significantly higher on the AUT Than Women. Androgynous subjects as predicted were cognitive flexibility flexible than were famine or under differentiated subjects but no differences emerged between androgynous and masculine subjects Journal abstract. Arora (1986) conducted a study on college students studying in different streams of professional courses completed personality tests. Findings indicate that personality adjustment was inversely correlated with self-concept and creative potential but was positively correlated with level of aspiration creative potential was immensely correlated with self-concept.

Abstract: India began formal engagement with ASEAN in 1992 as a “Sectoral Dialogue Partner” (and subsequently as a “Dialogue Partner” in 1996. The initial years as a Dialogue Partner (DP) entailed interaction at the Foreign Minister level which was further upgraded to the Summit level in 2002, when the first such Summit level meeting was held. Engagement with ASEAN is a multi-level interaction process. At the apex is the annual summits (“ASEAN-India Summit”) supported by meetings at the Foreign Minister level (“ASEANIndia Foreign Ministers Meeting”-AIFMM; In ASEAN’s terminology, it is called ASEAN Post Ministerial Conference(PMC) 10+1 Sessions with Dialogue partners) and Senior Official level meetings (“AISOM”)(ie, standalone, prior to AIFMM, prior to AI Summits). In 2021, 18th ASEAN India Summit was held on 28 October, 2021; AIFMM was held on 04 August, 2021 and 23rd AISOM was held on 28 April, 2021.The cycle of meetings begins at Ambassador’s level, ASEAN India Joint Cooperation Committee Meeting (AIJCC),which was held on 23 March 2022. On October 28, 2021 Prime Minister co-chaired the 18th India-ASEAN Summit with Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei, the current Chair of ASEAN. The Summit was held virtually and saw participation from the Leaders of ASEAN Member States.

ABSTRACT: Notwithstanding, human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) infection is linked to a possible danger to the fetus, there is scanty data from Rivers State, Nigeria concerning the epidemiology and the impact of HCMV infections. This cross-sectional study was conducted between February 2019 and November 2019 among pregnant women attending an antenatal clinic at the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital (UPTH), Port Harcourt, Nigeria, to investigate the magnitude and associated factors of HCMV infection. The specific HCMV IgM antibody was detected using an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). A total of 90 pregnant women in the age range of 20-49 years were enrolled. The prevalence of HCMV IgM antibodies was 25.6%. Only occupation, family type, history of STDs, HIV status, and being married (p < 0.05) occurred to predict HCMV IgM seropositivity independently. Concerning the outcomes of preceding pregnancies, history of abortion/miscarriage independently predicted IgM seropositivity (p=0.021). Human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) prevalence amongst pregnant women in Port Harcourt, Nigeria is high. This is linked to deprived pregnancy outcomes. Infection with human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) during pregnancy may lead to congenital disease. Thus, emphasize the screening of HCMV routinely to establish the impact of HCMV during pregnancy.
