Abstract:
The objective of this study was to compare positive mental
health of physically active and sedentary elderly females of
Jammu and Kashmir. To conduct the study 250 physically active
elderly women (Ave. age 64.11 yrs) and 250 elderly women with
sedentary lifestyle (Ave. age 63.23 yrs.) were selected as
sample. Physical activity comprise of regular walking, cycling,
light exercise etc. Positive mental health of selected subjects
was assessed by PMHI prepared by Agashe and Helode (1998). This
inventory is based on dimensions such as self acceptance, ego
strength and philosophy of life for overall assessment of
positive mental health. Data analysis with the help of
independent sample 't' test reveal that positive mental health
of elderly females engaged in regular physical activity was
found to be significantly higher as compared to elderly females
with sedentary lifestyle. It was concluded that elderly females
engaged in regular physical activity possesses more magnitude of
positive mental health as compared to sedentary elderly females.

Abstract:
High levels of
anxiety may be detrimental to performance it is important to
identify situations that are likely to cause high levels of
anxiety. The purpose of this study was to determine if anxiety
level differs between post graduate and under graduate students.
100 students were selected as samples from Post graduate (n=50)
and under graduate (n=50) to check the anxiety level of the
subjects Sport Competition Anxiety Test (SCAT) was used.
The results of the SCAT were first sorted by anxiety category
(low, average, and high). Within the parameters of this study,

Abstract:
This study has been conducted to assess the impact of motor
educability on academic achievement of adolescent boys of Jammu
and Kashmir. To conduct the study, 250 adolescent boys studying
in various schools operational in the State of Jammu and Kashmir
were selected as sample. In all 50 adolescent boys from age
group 13+ years age, 14+ years age, 15+ years age, 16+ years age
and 17+ years age were selected randomly. Motor educability of
selected subjects was assessed with the help of modified version
of Johnson’s test of motor educability (1932) consisting of
items such as front roll, back roll, jumping half turns and
jumping full terms. Academic achievement of selected subjects
was assessed with the help of previous year marks. In order to
distribute adolescent boys in high, average and low level of
motor educability, quartile methods was used. One Way ANOVA
showed significantly superior academic achievement in adolescent
boys exhibitinghigher magnitude ofmotor educability as compared
to adolescent boys exhibiting average and low level of motor
educability. It was concluded that motor educability is strongly
associated with academic achievement of adolescent boys.

Abstract:
Maturation date, yield / vine,
berries colouration % berries, shattering %, cluster weight,
total anthocyanins and both physical and chemical
characteristics of grapevine cv., Flame seedless, grown under
Minia region conditions in response to treating the clusters
with protone (10% ABA) at 500ppm, ethrel at 250 ppm and amino
acids at 1 % either applied alone or in different combinations
were investigated during 2017 and 2018 seasons. Single and
combined applications of protone at 500ppm, ethrel at 250 ppm
and amino acids at 1% once at veraison stage when approximately
10% of the berries on 50% of the clusters had softened resulted
in measurable advancement in maturation date and promotion on
berries colouration and berries quality compared to the control.
In ascending order the best materials in this respect were amino
acids, protone and Ethrel. Combined application were favourable
than using each material alone in hastening fruit maturation and
improving berries quality. Yield as well as weights of cluster
and berries were unaffected by the present treatments. For
solving the problem of uneven colouration of the berries in the
clusters of Flame seedless, grapevines grown under Middle Egypt
region conditions, it is suggested to subject the clusters once
at veraison stage when approximately 10% of the berries on 50%
of the clusters on each vine had softened with a mixture of
ethrel at 250 ppm, protone at 500 ppm and amino acids at 1%.

Abstract:
Gum Arabic as Prebiotic is food ingredients that stimulate the
growth of useful bacteria which lives in the large intestine of
the human being or animal since birth and beneficial to the
digestive system, body's immunity, disposal of poisons, fats and
excreta. Besides it negates the effects of harmful bacteria thus
protecting from the diseases, cancer, diabetes and obesity.
Present study aimed to investigate the in vitro and in vivo the
effect of Arabic gum as exudates and different parts of the tree
extracts; Aqueous, ethanol and Hexsane extracts of exudates,
leaf, fruits and Bark of Arabic Gum tree as potential
antibacterial against different several strains of pathogenic
bacteria
it was concluded that
There was a strong inhibitory effect of aqueous, ethanol and
hexane extracts of Arabic Gum exudates, leaf, fruit and
bark on most of the gram positive and gram negative bacteria.
The largest inhibition zones of bacterial strains were for
Staphylococcus aureus, followed by Streptococcus pyogenes
and Salmonella typhimurium while the smallest inhibition
zones were for Yersinia pestis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa
and Staphylococcus epidermidis.
The three tested strains greatly inhibited due to the presence
of Arabic Gum in diet of mice but with different degrees, make
us noticed that the most bacterial strain affected was
Streptococcus pyogenes
followed by Staphylococcus aureus
followed by Salmonella typhimurium.

Abstract:
Salmonellosis is one of the most prevalent food borne diseases
worldwide. Food animals have been identified as reservoirs for
non-typhoid Salmonella infections. Several measures have
been used to prevent and control Salmonella infections in
poultry. Vaccination is the most practical measure and effective
method to control and prevent Salmonellosis. Salmonella
vaccines can decrease public health risk by reducing
colonization and organ invasion, including reproductive tissues,
and by diminishing fecal shedding and environmental
contamination. This presentation discusses Salmonella
vaccines and their immune mechanisms of protection.

Abstract:
The aim of the present study was to assess the relationship
between motor educability and academic achievement of adolescent
students of Jammu and Kashmir. This study was carried out on 500
adolescent students studying in various schools operational in
the State of Jammu and Kashmir. The sample comprises of 250
adolescent boys and 250 adolescent girls between the age range
of 14 to 17 years. From each age group 50 adolescent students
were selected. To assess motor educability of selected
adolescent subjects Metheny-Johnson motor educability test was
used. It is useful for age group 11 to adulthood. It consists of
test items such as front roll, back roll, jumping half turns and
jumping full terms for overall assessment of motor educability.
Academic achievement of the selected subject was assessed by
total marks obtained in previous year's examination. The total
marks are then converted to have score out of 100 marks. 25th
and 75th percentile scores on motor educability test were used
to divide cases into high, average and low level of motor
educability groups. One Way ANOVA reveals that adolescent
students with high level of motor educability showed
significantly superior academic performance as compared to
adolescent students with average and low level of motor
educability. It was also observed that academic achievement of
adolescent students with average level of motor educability was
significantly superior as compared to adolescent students with
low level of motor educability. It was concluded that motor
educability is one of the strong contributor towards academic
achievement of adolescent students.

Aspect of the
Chemical Constituents of the Synonymous Aloe vera (L.)
Burm f. and Aloe
barbadensis Miller

Abstract:
The common medicinal Aloe had been known for quite a long
time, as Aloe barbadensis by most formularies and
reference books, until it was reduced to the synonymy of Aloe
vera. Despite this, both taxa continued to be used as a
matter of choice by different workers, as if they are distinct
species, leading to confusion in the literature. The present
study investigated aspects of the chemical constituents of young
and old plants of the synonymous species, using standard
procedures. This was to ascertain whether the findings would
lend support to the view that both taxa are one species. Young
and old Aloe barbadensis and A. vera leaves tested
positive to alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, cardiac glycosides
anthraquinones, saponins and negative to phlobatannins.
Quantitative mineral assay showed the presence in varying
levels, of micronutrients chromium, zinc and manganese and
macronutrients calcium, potassium; and magnesium in both taxa.
The findings in this study lend support to the view that both
taxa are synonymous.

Abstract:
Farming as a business is gaining more attention from Government
as well as private establishment. The role of fish farming in
the entire global development can not be underestimated. As part
of vision 20:20:20, Federal Government is taking every
predictable step to back her economic development. It was based
on this that this research was coined out in other to actually
know the effect of three different feeds i.e. copen, vital and
local feeds the types of ponds constructed for catfish
production. The data used was a primary data collected over a
span of some months, the records obtained eventually gave room
to the use of complete randomized design and t-test having
satisfied all the assumptions and we discover that the three
feeds have effects on the weight of catfish while types of pond
and interaction between the two independent factors have no
significant effect. It was further revealed through multiple
comparisons that only copen and local feeds have significant
effects on the weight of catfish. T-test analysis made us to
realize that the average weight of catfish in both ponds are the
same.

Abstract:
The present study was carried out the find out the effect of age
and physical activity status of elderly females. To conduct the
study 250 physically active elderly women (Ave. age 64.11 yrs)
and 250 elderly women with sedentary lifestyle (Ave. age 63.23
yrs.) were selected as sample. Mental health of selected
subjects was assessed by PMHI prepared by Agashe and Helode
(1998). Walking, light exercise, recreational activities and
yoga on regular basis were considered as physical activity apart
from day-to-day work. Analysis of data in the form 2x2 factorial
design reveal significant main effect of physical activity
status and age on mental health of elderly females. The main
effect of physical activity status reveals that elderly females
engaged in regular physical activity possess significantly more
magnitude of mental health as compared to sedentary elderly
females. The mental health of elderly females of 60-65 years age
group was found to be significantly superior as compared to that
of elderly females of 65-70 years age group. The two factor
interaction effect age and physical activity status was not
observed on mental health of elderly females. It was concluded
that age and physical activity status alone and not in
interaction with each other are significant contributors towards
mental health in elderly females.

Abstract:
Cancer is the general name for a group of more than 100
diseases. Although there are many kinds of cancer, all cancers
start because abnormal cells grow out of control. Untreated
cancers can cause serious illness and death. The body is made up
of trillions of living cells. Normal body cells grow, divide,
and die in an orderly fashion. During the early years of a
person’s life, normal cells divide faster to allow the person to
grow. After the person becomes an adult, most cells divide only
to replace worn-out or dying cells or to repair injuries. This
article introduces recent research reports as references in the
related studies.
